PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of a reaction rate due to reaction equilibrium and the adsorption of a reaction species by installing a means for mounting a catalyst layer horizontally and a means for moving the catalyst layer in a reactor in which a substance supplied into a container is reacted by the catalyst layer, and the product is discharged outside the container. SOLUTION: By rotating the rotor 5 of a power generation apparatus 3 by a heating medium 11 passing through a heating medium passage 10, a catalyst layer 4 mounted horizontally on the bottom surface of a container 1 is rotated. By supplying 2-propanol (liquid) 7 to the center of the catalyst layer 4, the liquid is dispersed radially by using the centrifugal force of the layer 4 which rotates the liquid to form a membrane of 2-propanol 7 on the surface of the layer 4. The dehydration reaction of 2-propanol 7 is generated by the catalyst layer 4 in the membrane to produce acetone (gas) 8 and hydrogen (gas). Heat necessary for the reaction is supplied by a heat exchange from the heating medium 11 to the catalyst layer 4.
