PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet detection device which can reduce the installation number of a sensor against a carrying passage and the cost of the device and a carrying device and image forming device provided therewith. SOLUTION: First/second carrying passages 641b, 641a are arranged so as to be superposed each other and a sheet S is carried along the carrying passage selected out of the first/second carrying passages 641b, 641a. One sensor 766j is arranged along the carrying passages 641b, 641a and it is detected whether the sheet is existed in respective carrying passages 641b, 641a and the detection result is outputted to a controller. The controller judges the existence/absence of the sheet in the selected carrying passage while considering a passage selection information for showing to which carrying passage the sheet should be carried, in addition to this sensor output.
