PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain ceramic powder capable of eliminating an abnormal sound in compression under pressure and in takeout of molding product even in a molding product of large-scale product size having >=80 mm thickness or >=50 mm compression length in which molding has been regarded as impossible, controlling fault and defect such as damage of molding product and moldable in excellent mass productivity in a dry pressure forming by a mold press. SOLUTION: This ceramic powder for dry pressure forming containing a lubricant composed of an organic substance such as stearic acid contributing to improvement in lubricating properties of powder has the average film thickness Vb/Ap of the lubricant of the surface of ceramic powder particle in the range of 0.5-5 nm when the specific surface area of the ceramic powder particle is Ap and the volume of the lubricant per unit weight of the ceramic powder is Vb.
