PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a good steering feeling in which a driver does not feel a difference of a torque transmission efficiency between a forward rotation and a reverse rotation of a linear member. SOLUTION: This steering apparatus 20 for vehicle transmits a steering amount of a steering wheel 22 as a steering torque around a shaft of a flexible shaft 30 to a steering gear box 34. In this steering apparatus 20, an input side rotation angle sensor 40 detects a rotation angle of one end of the flexible shaft 30 on the steering wheel 22 side, and an output side rotation angle sensor 42 detects a rotation angle of the other end of the flexible shaft 30 on the steering gear box 34 side. A control device 44 calculates a difference between the rotation angle of one end and the rotation angle of the other end of the flexible shaft 30 while determining a forward direction rotation or a reverse direction rotation. Based on the calculated difference, a difference of a torque transmission efficiency between the forward rotation direction and reverse rotation direction of the flexible shaft 30 is compensated, and an optimum steering assist force is applied to the steering gear box 34 based on a running condition of a vehicle. |
