PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a method for fine rolling for tea manufacturing by which a fine rolling step in a tea manufacturing line is divided into a first fine rolling step and a second fine rolling step and the amount of tea leaves charged into fine rolling machines installed in each fine rolling step can be optimized to thereby improve the quality of the fine rolling processing and an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: A fine rolling step is divided into a first fine rolling step 1 and a second fine rolling step 2 and the processing treatment in the initial stage of the fine rolling step is carried out in the first fine rolling step 1. The processing treatment of the fine rolling step and thereafter is then performed in the second fine rolling step 2. When charging tea leaves subjected to the processing treatment in the first fine rolling step 1 into the second fine rolling step 2, the amount of the tea leaves is the optimal amount charged in the second fine rolling step 2. The volume reduction in each fine rolling step is kept within the range without adversely affecting the fine rolling processing to thereby remarkably reduce the frequency of occurrence of flat beating or uneven shape due to insufficient rolling in. As a result, the quality of the fine rolling processing can be improved.
