PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerization method for a polyolefin by which a continuous polymerization reaction can be carried out while suppressing the generation of lumps in the polymer or in the reactor without largely changing the catalyst activities in a polymer production apparatus. SOLUTION: This vapor phase polymerization method of an olefin by feeding a metallocene-based catalyst-containing solid component to a fluidized bed reactor 2 is characterized by <=20 ppb carbon monoxide concentration in the component fed to the reactor 2 and/or the component in the reactor 2.
