PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair-treating agent composition, which prevents loss of hair and improves its feeling by neutralizing the residual alkali in the hair, because the hair becomes alkaline when treated with an oxidation hair dye, permanent waving agent, or the first agent for correcting wavy hair. SOLUTION: This composition contains an anionic polymer, e.g. Acrylates/ Steareth-20 Itaconate Copolymer, Acrylates/Ceteth-20 Itaconate Copolymer, Acrylates/Steareth-20 Methacrylate Copolymer, or Acrylates/Ceteth-20 Methacrylate Copolymer, to be applied to the hair treated with an alkaline agent. It may be incorporated with a cationic polymer.
