PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To express a plurality of transfer densities by using the same ink ribbon and to form a multigrade color image of a high quality level by changing a feeding speed of the ribbon and a feeding speed of an intermediate transfer body and printing the image, in the case of transferring the image, which is transfer ingly formed, on the intermediate transfer body onto an image-receiving sheet. SOLUTION: In the case of thermal transferring an image on an intermediate transfer body onto an image receiving sheet, a feeding speed ω1 of an ink ribbon and a feeding speed ω2 of the transfer are changed, the image is printed, and a transfer density D is obtained, wherein D is the transfer density obtained in the case of ω1=ω2, by setting ω1=ω2. Further ω1<ω2 is set, and the transfer density of lower density than the D is obtained. ω1>ω2 is set, and the transfer density of higher density than the D is obtained. More particularly, the image is obtained by thermally transferring an ink onto the transfer 1 while moving the thermal transfer ink ribbon 3 at a feeding speed ω1 in the direction of arrow. The formed image is moved toward a platen 4, and there transferred onto an image receiving sheet 5 moved at a feeding speed ω2 in a direction of an arrow. |
