PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a worker from being injured with a suspended iron plate and the like by rotation of a hook part caused by twisting of a wire or the like, and to prevent the iron plate or the like suspended by a hook from coming off, when a suspending object with a width such as the iron plate is handled. SOLUTION: In this safety hook comprising a U-shaped hook body 22, and an eye latch 23 wherein an opening part between both ends of the hook body 22 is closed and in one end of which a connection ring 26 is provided to connect a suspension member such as a chain, the connection ring 26 for connecting the suspension member provided in one end head part of the latch 23 is connected ring-likely to form a ball bearing supporting part 26a in a lower end part and to make two radially facing portions form a space 26b in its central part, so as to form an elliptical connection ring 26A, the central part of a thrust ball bearing 27 attached to the ball bearing supporting part 26a is provided to be penetrated through a head part 23b of the eye latch 23, a threaded part 23c formed in the head part 23b is fixedly attached to a head part of the ball bearing 27 with a nut 29, and the nut 29 is prevented by a spring pin 28 from being whirled.
