PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject vaporizer or arrangement for instantaneously producing at ordinary temperature a mixed gas comprising air and a liquid fuel by instantaneous ignition of a burner. SOLUTION: This fuel vaporizer has a POX burner 11 for producing a combustible gas based on hydrogen, a POX/HTS catalyst 12 for performing both partial oxidation and steam reforming by mixing a liquid fuel, steam and air into the gas produced above, a LTS catalyst 13 for lowering the concentration of carbon monoxide in the mixed gas by the steam in the mixed gas, a PROX catalyst 14 for removing the carbon monoxide left in minute amounts, and a bubbling evaporator 15 connected to the burner 11 and capable of mixing such an amount of the liquid fuel into air as to correspond to its saturated vapor pressure at normal temperatures. This fuel vaporizer works as follows: in its startup, a mixed gas comprising air and a fuel is fed from the bubbling evaporator 15 to the burner 11. |
