<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hybrid pigment which has an excellent dispersibility and high color density and chroma and exhibits an excellent heat stability when compounded into a resin by dissolving a crude pigment bearing acid hydrogens like -NH or OH groups in a diketopyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole pigment alkali salt suspension to give a pigment-salt suspension and then precipitating the pigment and the salt together. SOLUTION: An alkali salt suspension of a diketopyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole pigment represented by formula I is mixed with a crude pigment bearing acid hydrogens like -NH, -OH, or -CONH- in the presence of an excess base to precipitate the salt and the crude pigment together, In formula I, A and B are each independently a group represented by formula II (wherein R1 and R2 are eachindependently H, a halogen, 1-5C alkyl, nitrile, or phenyl). Preferably, the hybrid pigment is precipitated from the pigment salt suspension by drowning into water or an alcohol or a mixture thereof in the presence or absence of an inorganic or organic acid.</p> |
