PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily prevent a bare from being generated by constituting an annular mold for forming a tread pattern of a tire, of at least a plurality of pieces dividedly retained in the peripheral direction and forming an air vent gap which is thin in width and equivalent to an almost entirely lost portion of the side edge part of a molding face side on the adjoining face of each of the pieces. SOLUTION: The mold for molding a tire which forms a tread pattern of a tire retains a piece 10 on the inner face of each of holders dividedly disposed in the peripheral direction. The molding face 11 of the piece 10 is gradually curved from the center, in the width direction, of the tread of the tire to a part forward of the shoulder part, and has an adjoining face 12 which comes into contact with those of the other pieces 10 before and after the piece 10 and is molded in such a manner that each of the four plain faces bent at three spots matches that of the other pieces 10 before and after the piece 10 in parallel. In this case, almost the entirety of the side edge part including projecting strips 13 of the molding face 11 side on one of the adjoining faces 12, is made a lost portion which is thin in width and creates a gap 17 between the side edge part and the adjoining piece 10. Thus it is possible to prevent a spew from being generated and dispense with an installation for eliminating the spew. |
