PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyester which scarcely contains aldehyde compounds, while the irregularity of the quality of the polyester is reduced between or within the lots of the polyester. SOLUTION: This method for producing a polyester comprises subjecting a dicarboxylic acid and a diol compound to an esterification reaction, polycondensing the product, mixing the pellets of the obtained polyester in a blending silo, and then melting and kneading the mixture in a vent attached extruder to remove low boiling point components contained in the polyester. The obtained polyester pellets may further be mixed in a blending silo.
