PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue printing output operation without interrupting the same to the utmost when paper of a designated kind is not applied or paper is exhausted at a time of the printing processing of a printing jib in a printing output device feeding paper of a different kind to a printing part corresponding to the designation of the kind of paper in a printing job to apply printing thereto. SOLUTION: In a paper feed control method, at a time of the printing processing of a printing job, it is retrieved whether a paper feed port loaded with paper of a kind (combination of size and type) designated in the printing job is present before the start of paper feed at every feed of one paper (S1) and, in the case of absence, the paper feed port loaded with paper coinciding with the paper of the designated kind in size or type is retrieved (S2, S3) and, if there is the paper feed port concerned, paper is fed from the paper feed port (S5).
