PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability and water saving performance of a water purifier and to reduce the size and cost of the purifier by driving a switching valve mechanism on the basis of the action of a temperature-sensing member capable of detecting the temperature within a filtered water outflow passage and closing or opening a valve seat connected to a purified water delivery port and opening or closing another valve seat connected to a water discharge port, when the temperature within the filtered water outflow passage becomes higher or lower than a prescribed temperature. SOLUTION: In this water purifier, a switching valve mechanism 21 placed in a filtered water outflow passage 28, has a switching valve body 29 provided with a temperature-sensing member 20 and a switching valve body 32, wherein the temperature-sensing member 20 acts so as to drive the switching valve body 32 toward a first valve seat 30 with a temperature- sensing spring 20a made of a shape memory alloy, and also, to drive the switching valve body 32 toward a second valve seat 31 with a bias spring 34. When the temperature within the filtered water outflow passage 28 is lower than a prescribed temperature, e.g. 45 deg.C, the driving force of the bias spring 34 is greater than the driving force of temperature-sensing spring 20a and the switching valve body 32 is driven so as to open the first valve seat 30 and to close the second valve seat 31. When the temperature within the filtered water outflow passage 28 is higher than 45 deg.C, the driving force of temperature-sensing spring 20a is greater than the driving force of the bias spring 34 and the switching valve body 32 is driven so as to close the first valve seat 30 and to open the second valve seat 31.
