PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the drop of spark voltage caused by splashes of liquid drops. SOLUTION: Dust collection electrodes 14 and a discharge electrode 12 are alternately provided in parallel at a predetermined interval and the discharge electrode 12 has a structure wherein needles 24 are provided to a matrix 22. The needles 24 in the vicinity of a position where the liquid drops sprayed from a nozzle 16 are splashed by the dust collection electrodes, for example, three upper needles on the side of the spray nozzle 16 are made short and the needles under these upper needles are made long. By this constitution, the drop of spark voltage caused by the splashes of liquid drops can be prevented and, as a result, the applied voltage to the discharge electrode can be raised to enhance the mist collection efficiency of a wet electric precipitator.
