PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for producing artificial quartz, capable of reducing the contamination of the artificial quartz by foreign substances by disposing control members for controlling the convection current of an alkali solution at the both ends of a seed quartz seed attached to a growing frame in the upper portion of a high pressure container whose inner portion is filled with the alkali solution. SOLUTION: Quartz as a raw material is received in the lower portion of a high pressure container, and a growing frame 8 is disposed in the upper portion. A seed quartz seed 3 is attached to the growing frame 8. An alkali solution is filled in the high pressure container to grow artificial quartz on the crystal seed 3. Therein, dents 8a are formed in the growing frame 8, and projections 3a are formed at the upper and lower ends of the seed crystal seed 3. Bevelled buckles 10 are used as control members for controlling the convection current of the alkali solution. The upper portions of the bevelled buckles 10 are portions to be inserted into the dents 8a, and hollow axial portions for inserting the projections 3a are formed in the bevelled buckles 10. Thereby, the seed quartz 3 is fit to the growing frame 8 through the bevelled buckles 10 to control the convection current of the alkali solution. The alkali solution containing foreign substances flows at positions apart from the neighbors of the quartz seed 3.
