<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll type compressor to improve reliability of the strength of an extension lap, in a volume variable structure to extend the roll terminal part of a revolution scroll lap and decrease the thickness of a lap. SOLUTION: A stationary scroll having a vortex-form lap situated erecting at an end plate is fixed in a closed container and similarly, a revolution scroll having a vortex-form lap erecting at the end plate are situated such that the laps are engaged with each other to form a plurality of compression chambers. An extension part 4bb formed such that the lap further extended from the winding terminal 4bl position of the lap 4b of the revolution scroll along a vortex shape is formed. By performing relative movement of the two scrolls such that a volume is more decreased with the progress of movement in the central direction of the scroll, a refrigerant in the compression chamber is compressed. In a so formed scroll compressor, the wall surface 4b2 of the lap extension part 4bb is cut such that the height of the lap 4b is gradually decreased toward a winding terminal end part 4b3 and the thickness T1 of the lap is decreased in thickness to a value lower than thickness T2 before extension.</p> |
