PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of fine coagula and also to narrow the particle distribution of latex when producing the polymer latex. SOLUTION: A polymerizable monomer is subjected to an emulsion polymerization by using a stirred vessel 1 as a polymerization vessel to provide the objective polymer latex. The stirred vessel 1 has a rotary shaft 2 vertically installed in the center part of the stirred vessel 1, and plural paddle blades 3, 4 arranged on the rotary shaft 2 in the upper and lower many rows. The paddle blade 3 at the lowest row is arranged so that the lower part may positioned at the vicinity of the bottom surface of the stirred vessel 1, and at least outer end parts thereof have plate-like fins 6 extended upward. The paddle blade 4 positioned at the upper row in neighboring paddle blades in the upper and lower direction is arranged so as to precede the paddle blade 3 positioned at the lower row at a crossing angle (a) of <90 deg. in the rotation direction. |
