PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid feed instrument which allows a flow of liquid at a fixed rate without the need to feed an outside power by a method wherein a proper head tank is suspended from a spring comprising properly combined thin plates so that a constant potential head can be provided easily in a stable manner regardless of the amount of liquid held in the head tank and feeding or non-feeding of liquid thereto. SOLUTION: A head tank 1 having a certain cross sectional area holds therein a liquid 2 and is suspended from a spring 4 comprising thin plates having a spring constant k, which is given by k=ρAg (ρis the density of a liquid, g is acceleration of gravity) through a tank hanger 3. The spring 4 is suspended from a spring hanger 5 disposed above the spring 4. The liquid flows out of a fixed flow-out part 8 through a soft tube 7, and the spring 4 contracts as the depth of the liquid decreases, whereby the liquid surface maintains a fixed level so that a constant potential head can be provided.
