PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject device capable of positioning all of the cam elements having expanded knitting performance with a minimal built-in space and slight cost of control technique. SOLUTION: This moving device has two step motors; wherein the output pinion 93 of the 1st step motor acts simultaneously in a mutually reverse manner on two control sliders 100 and 200 movable in the direction of a carriage travel, these sliders 100 and 200, in turn, acting on the control face of a 1st cam; whereas the output pinion 95 of the 2nd step motor acts on a slider 300 provided with curved orbits and movable in the direction of the carriage travel, the slider 300 being provided with control curved orbits 320, 340, 350 and 360 for at least 2nd and 3rd cams.
