PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to adjust length of a writing tool. SOLUTION: A writing tool 10 is constituted by providing a writing tool main body 12 on the apex side of which a lead 11 is provided and a cylindrical body 13 inserted from the back end side of this writing tool main body. The cylindrical body 13 is provided with a stopper piece 41 in its inside end part and this stopper piece 41 makes the whole length of the writing tool 10 to the shortest dimension at a position where this stopper piece 41 penetrates into a hole 23 of the writing tool main body 12. A coil spring 44 is arranged between the cylindrical body 13 and the writing tool main body 12 and when the stopper piece 41 falls down from the hole 23 by operation of a push button 18, the cylindrical body 13 is projected from the back end of the writing tool main body 12 by energizing force.
