PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing method by which it is possible to prevent the effusion of paste during squeegeeing from occurring and also eliminate the generation of a printing failure due to the deterioration of penetration of the paste through the opening of a printing plate during a process of separating a printing plate, and a printing press. SOLUTION: The separation speed of the plate face 2b of a mask 2 from the printing face 30a of an object 30 to be printed is controlled by changing the moving speed of a pressing member 80 by a peel speed control means 200 so that the tacking force of paste 8 to stick to a printing face 30a has to be larger than the sum of the force resisting penetration of the paste 8 due to the physical irregularities of the inner wall face of an opening 2a in the mask 2 and the force resisting penetration of the paste 8 (slip stress) due to the tack of the paste 8 to the inner wall face of the opening 2a in the mask 2.
