PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable mass production by implementing the production in small quantities in the beginning and then adding a press unit thereto. SOLUTION: A transfer press line is formed by splitting a crown 4, a slide 5 and a bed 2 for each of working stations W1, W2..., interposing an upright 3 between the crown and the bed to construct a modularized press unit 1, installing one or a plurality of sets of press units and work transporting means on the transfer press line to constitute a press for batch production, and adding one or a plurality of sets of press units and trans-feeders to the upstream or downstream side of the existing press unit to constitute a transfer press line. The initial investment cost is reduced by adopting the batch production system, and the transfer press line high in productivity can be easily obtained by adding a press unit later.
