PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antislip material of cloth composed of fibers which can prevent slippage on an ice or snow surface, e.g. frozen ski slope. SOLUTION: This material is woven or knitted cloth or non-woven cloth, whose exposed fibers are very fine, mostly 0.00001 to 1.0 deniers, and restricted at both ends. The fiber may have a plane contact radius of 0.5μm or less. Decreasing size of the fiber 1 allows the cloth to come into contact with the ice layer 2 under a water film, and forms a sunken groove 2a under load in the ice layer 2, which produces the effect of engaging with the fiber 1. Crossing the exposed fibers in the slip direction produces a force of restraining slippage, resulting from shear friction produced by the engaging effect. The thin, flexible structure makes the cloth easily adhered to the bottom of shoe or the like.
