PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with the case where the garaging status of a vehicle different in kind of a user is changed according to the circumstances by partitioning each parking chamber by pallets supported by beams, to be discriminated between a low roof vehicle and a high roof vehicle. SOLUTION: A beam 50 for both a low roof vehicle and a high roof vehicle, a beam 30 special for a low roof vehicle and a beam 40 special for a high roof vehicle area arranged in order from below to be taken as one set and plural sets are combined at each pitch. The stop position of an elevator car 16 is controlled to be varied every time, and beams 30, 40, 50 for placing a pallet are suitably selected to be freely used as parking devices of various types. Therefore, according to the constitution of a vehicle using the parking device, basic conditions of a building are not changed, but a parking device corresponding to the status can be freely selected every time. Thus, the similar effect as that in the case of determining the basic constitution and installing plural parking devices is obtained and a very flexible parking device can be obtained.
