PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for producing magnetically treated active water (magnetized water), by which magnetohydrodynamic reaction with respect to water flowing through a water pipe can stably and effectively be caused and which can simply be installed, by forming a section of a pipe for allowing water to flow through it, into a flattened shape and placing plural magnets for forming a magnetic field within the flattened pipe section, on the both sides of the flattened pipe section. SOLUTION: In this device, a section of a water passage pipe 3 is formed into a flattened shape and plural cylindrical bar magnets 9 are placed at equal intervals on each of the flattened upper and lower faces 3a of the pipe section to form a magnetic field within the flatted pipe section of the water passage pipe 3, wherein the flattened pipe section is desirably formed so that the distance between the two flattened faces 3a is almost constant throughout the flattened pipe section. As the material of the water passage pipe 3, a material such as SUS 304 is used and, as the method for flattening the section of the water passage pipe 3, a method that comprises pressing the section with flat plates, or the like, from the both sides of the water passage pipe 3 to flatly deform the section, is simplest. However, other appropriate methods can be used without limitation, and as a magnet used, a neodymium magnet is preferred.
