摘要 An improved joint for a variable wall thickness conduit is disclosed. The joint includes a female joint section and a male joint section. The female joint section has a body portion which terminates in a first support surface and a sealing sleeve which extends beyond the first support surface. The sleeve has a first sealing surface and a thickness. The male joint section has a body portion that terminates in a wall and a sealing nose that extends beyond the wall. The wall has a width greater than the thickness of the sleeve. The nose includes a load bearing surface, a second sealing surface and a recess in the second sealing surface. The female joint section aligns and joins to the male joint section, the load bearing surface being in force transmittal relationship with the first support surface, whereby a gap is formed between the first sealing surface and the second sealing surface. The sleeve also includes a locking member on the first sealing surface for resisting tensile forces between the female joint section and the male joint section. The joint also includes a sealing member which is at least partially retained within the recess and contacts the first sealing surface.
