PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and inexpensive brake device for a fluid motor having high safety. SOLUTION: Only by adding a brake piston 66 approaching and separating fixed rotary friction discs 54 and 55 to exert a brake force on the rotation part 49 of a fluid motor 10 and a brake passage 73 to guide high pressure fluid to the brake piston 66 and press the brake piston 66 against the friction discs 54 and 55 to a brake device 53, a brake force is exerted on the fluid motor 10 as occasion demands and this constitution provides a compact and inexpensive brake device 53.
