PROCEDURE DETERMINING FLAWS IN METALS

study of mechanical properties of metals related to formation of flaws emerging with loading of metal specimens. SUBSTANCE: proposed procedure consists in tight attachment of one or several chambers filled with air under normal atmospheric pressure in advance to surface of specimen placed in air atmosphere. Internal space of chambers is open to surface of specimen. Gas sensor is placed into each chamber, then specimen is loaded under mode of gradual rise of load. Gas sensors record start of emission of element of substance of specimen in which capacity hydrogen is chosen. Coordinates of formation of flaws are determined by location of chamber corresponding to sensor and volume of this area is computed. EFFECT: simplified procedure and widened capabilities of study of mechanical properties of metals related to formation of flaws emerging with loading. 2 dwg
