PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict a photographing function when a camera body part and a camera accessory are used in any unauthorized combination. SOLUTION: The camera body 2 and a lens part 3 are freely attachable to and detachable from each other and a digital camera system is constituted by connecting both through connectors 9a and 9b. A memory 37 is arranged in the lens part 3 and writing and reading or the like are controlled by the CPU 20 of the camera body part 2. The CPU 20 writes identifying information inputted by a user in the memory 37. When the lens part 3 is exchanged with another lens part 3, the CPU 20 inspects whether identifying information is set or not by performing access to the memory 37 and requests the input of reference information to the user when it is set. Then CPU 20 restricts the photographing function in the combination of the camera body part 2 with the lens part 3 unless identifying information obtained from the memory 37 coincides with reference information inputted by the user.
