PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely remove an unnecessary outer frame from the pictures of plural pages in a paper book. SOLUTION: A picture input part 3 in an authoring device 1 reads the plural pages of a paper book and generates the pictures of the respective pages. In a frame deleting part 9 in the authoring device 1, a common area extraction part 15 extracts an area common to all the pictures from the pictures of the respective pages. At least one arrangement in characters or graphs is in the common area of the respective pictures is mutually similar. An outside of common area removal part 19 substitutes the color of a part outside the common area of the respective pictures for the background color of the common area for removing the frames outside the common area of the pictures. A picture output part 5 in the authoring device 1 outputs data on the picture after all the pages of the paper book are substituted as the content of an electronic book. |
