PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the optical module having a photoelectric converting part which is freely attachable to and detachable from an optical connector plug. SOLUTION: An adaptor 10A freely attachable to and detachable from an optical connector plug 30 is designed to incorporate a photoelectic conversion element and the photoelectric converting part 10B having an optical waveguide optically connected to the element; by joining the adaptor 10A to the optical connector plug 30, the front face of photoelectric converting part 10B comes into contact with the ferule face of the optical connector plug 30; and, by a guide pin, the optical axes are aligned between the coated optical fiber of the optical connector plug 30 and the optical waveguide of the electro-optical converting part 10B.
