摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of thermally insulating a high-temperature container, in which no gap is left between a molded heat-insulating material and the inner surface of a thin and long container body, to the inner surface of which the heat insulating material is attached. SOLUTION: In a method of thermally insulating a high-temperature container by attaching a heat insulating material to the inner surface of the container having a cylindrical shank 2 and an end plate 3 forming the bottom of the shank 2, the method comprises the steps of preparing a plurality of short segments 10 smaller in diameter than the inner diameter of the shank 2, which the segments 10 are formed by winding molded heat-insulating materials 6 in multiple layers around the outer peripheries of cylindrical inner shrouds 4a each having a length obtained by dividing that of the shank 2 into several parts and supporting the outer peripheries of the molded heat-insulating materials 6 by cylindrical outer shrouds 4b, and inserting the segments 10 one by one into the shank 2 of the container, in which the inner surface of the bottom plate 3 is already covered with heat-insulating materials 9, while thickly filling flocculent heat insulating materials 5 in gaps formed between the inner surface of the shank 2 and the segments 10 at every insertion.
