PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To observe an excellent finder image by the absolute minimum constitution by constituting a different-length prism and a display element instead of a 1st prism so that they can be exchangeable in order to prevent the position of an image forming surface from being changed. SOLUTION: The optical path of luminous flux emitted from an object side and guided by an objective optical system 1 is reflected by the 1st prism 2 so as to form an object image at the image forming surface 7. Then, the inverted finder image formed at the image forming surface 7 is made into an erect normal image by a prism 3 and observed from an eye point E through an eyepiece optical system 4. As another example, a liquid crystal display element 6 is used for displaying finder information and the different-length prism 2a is used instead of the 1st prism 2 in order to adjust the change of optical path length. By the element 6, the information within a finder such as a range-finding mark is displayed. Since the prism 2a satisfying prescribed conditions is used, the position of the prism 3 need not be changed and the use of the element 6 is made possible.
