摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas diffusion electrode having improved strength, conductivity, and performance of an electrode by forming a reaction layer mixed with a high pressure pressing part and a low pressure pressing part. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method for a gas diffusion electrode, a sheet of gas diffusion electrode having a reaction layer whose main components are silver or silver alloy particulates and particulates of polytetrafluoroethylene, is pressed by a press jig having continuous irregularity at a normal temperature and at a pressure of 10 kg/cm2 or more, then is subjected to a heat treatment without being pressurized at a temperature not less than the melting point of polyetrafluoroethylene. When pressing, it is desirable to control the pressure distribution by sandwiching a hard metal boil with a press jig having a continuous irregularity and the component material of the reaction layer of the gas diffusion electrode to be pressed. Moreover, a metal mesh can be used as the press jig having irregularity.
