PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the service life of a photoreceptor prolonged by minimizing a discharge quantity by a main charger. SOLUTION: With respect to a non-image area forming no image so as to correspond to a part between paper sheets that the image is not formed in the surface of a photoreceptor drum 1, charging potential by a main charger 3 is lowered. In other wards, the photoreceptor surface is charged to potential lower than the specific high potential, and at the potential to the extent that the toner on a developing device 5 is not to stick on the photoreceptor surface, even when bias of the developing device 5 is 0 V. On the other hand, the bias voltage of the developing device 5, is made to 0 V, at the time of facing to the non-image area. In such a manner, on the non-image area, the discharge of the main charger 3 is reduced, and evolution of ozone and nitrogen oxides are reduced. Moreover, the development bias with respect to the non-image area is made into 0, therefore the toner is restrained from sticking on the non- image area from the developing device 5. |
