PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device for realizing improvement in luminance by dividing a structure of a light inlet part into two parts respectively, having different functions (a light inlet part for taking in outside light and converting the light to enclosed light, and a light guide part adjacent to the light inlet part for guiding the light to a liquid crystal display panel) to enlarge the occupying area of the light inlet part. SOLUTION: In this liquid crystal display device, outside light is taken in, and the taken-in outside light is guided to the rear side of a liquid crystal panel 15 and irradiated on the liquid crystal panel 15 from the rear side of the liquid crystal panel 15. The liquid crystal display has a light inlet part 17 for taking in the outside light and converting the light to enclosed light propagating inside the light inlet part 17, and a light guide part 18 adjacent to the light inlet part 17 for changing a light path of the enclosed light from the light inlet part 17, such that the enclosed light from the light inlet part 17 is guided toward the rear of the liquid crystal panel 15. |
