PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a shock detecting apparatus which detects a shock precisely, which is not made large-sized and which reduces dissipation power by installing a sensor or the like which outputs a shock signal according to a shock when the shock is generated. SOLUTION: When a shock is applied, a voltage (a shock signal) which is proportional to the applied shock is generated across both ends of a load resistance 3 which is arranged in parallel to a shock sensor 2, and it is input to an interrupt detection output port 4 in a control circuit 1. When the magnitude of the input voltage is at a prescribed level or higher, an interrupt detection circuit 1c recognizes it as an interrupt signal. The shock signal is input simultaneously to a counter input port 5, and it is input to a counter 1d so as to be counted as a digital clock. When a counted value is at a preset prescribed value or higher, it is judged that a large shock is applied to an apparatus, and a shock damage processing operation is performed. That is to say, a processing operation such as the inhibition of the operation of the apparatus, a warning display or the like is performed.
