PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the discrimination method of the optical effect of powder and/or a powder composition where the relationship with skin can be added by forming the thin film of the powder and/or powder composition on a light transmission support, by applying light to the thin film, by measuring the shift of irradiation light, and by using the shift as an index. SOLUTION: As a light transmission support, for example, a transparent or translucent plastic plate such as an acryl plate, a vinyl chloride plate, and polyethylene telephthalate, a glass plate or the like whose surface is etched by corrosion, abrasion, or the like is preferably used. Light is applied to a sample, the shift of the light caused by the sample is measured, and the shift is used as an index. Although the angle of the application of the light is especially limited, light is preferably applied from the upper part of the seal surface of powder and/or a powder composition in a direction being vertical to a sample surface. A light source being adjusted without expansion is preferable, and the light with spectral characteristics being close to natural or white light is preferable.
