PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a level-detecting device which suppresses a bottom value or peak value detection error. SOLUTION: Peak value levels of an input signal and its voltage-divided signal are detected by level detection parts 103 and 104 respectively. The level detection parts 103 and 104 are constituted by using the same circuit elements, so that the output signals of both the detection parts have equal level detection errors, depending on the mark rate of the peak level that the input signal shows. An arithmetic part 105 performs subtraction between the output of the level detection part 103 and the output of the level detection part 104, to cancel the level detection errors and output them. An amplification part 106 receives and amplifies the output of the arithmetic part 105 with an amplification factor predetermined, corresponding to the voltage division ratio of a signal voltage division part 102 to restore the output to the level of the input signal and output the restored signal.
