<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the accuracy of the confrontation of a vehicle by a method wherein a laser beam whose up-and-down direction is parallel to the advance direction of the vehicle and whose right-and-left direction is parallel to the optical axis of the light receiving optical system of a headlight tester is irradiated from the front of the vehicle. SOLUTION: A laser beam L whose up-and-down direction is parallel to the advance plane F of a vehicle 60 and whose right-and-left direction is parallel to the optical axis of the light receiving optical system 56 of a headlight tester is irradiated from the front of the vehicle 60 by a laser oscillator 1. Them, the vehicle 60 is advanced in such a way that the position of the vehicle 60 which is irradiated with the laser beam L is not changed, and the vehicle is confronted with the headlight tester. When the vehicle 60 is advanced in such a way that the irradiation position of the laser beam L is not changed, the vehicle 60 is brought close to the headlight tester to be in parallel to the laser beam L, and the center line of a car body is made parallel to the laser beam L. Thereby, the optical axis of the optical system 56 of the headlight tester which is parallel to the laser beam L is made parallel to the center line of the car body, and the vehicle can be confronted with high accuracy.</p> |
