PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make surely formable an image on specified tab paper by performing such control so that, when judging that tab paper is not to be subjected to image formation, an image forming device ejects it without carrying out the image formation, and when judging that tab paper to be subjected to the image formation is fed, the device carriers out the image formation. SOLUTION: When recognizing the setting of tab paper on a paper feed cassette, a CPU 201 in quires a user via an operation panel 151 how many tabs are required and let the user input the number. Upon the depression of the start key of the operation panel 151, the CPU 201 starts the control of a paper feed system, carrying system, and so on and starts a paper feed operation. The CPU 201 operates a tab detection motor until the detection of a tab by a tab detection sensor, and calculates a moved distance. After the detection of the position of the tab by a detecting operation, the CPU 201 judges whether the specified position of an image written on format paper for only tab paper use matches the position of the fed tab paper. In the case the device judges that they do not match, it ejects the tab paper, and in the case where it judges they match with each other, it forms an image. |
