PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a power converter which can always be controlled appropriately and stably, even when a fault or fluctuation occurs in an AC power system and the power system is restored from an abnormal phenomenon. SOLUTION: When a fault detecting means 13 detects occurrence of a fault in an AC power system 1, a switch means 11 outputs I2Qref2 from a voltage control means 10 to a power converter circuit 4 as I2Qref instead of I2Qref1 from a reactive power control means 8. When the detecting means 13 detects the restoration of the system 1 from the fault, the switch means 11 outputs the I2Qref1 from the reactive power control means 8 to the power converter circuit 4 as the I2Qref, in place of the I2Qref2 from the voltage control means 10. |
