METHOD FOR EVALUATING IMAGE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING QUALITY OF PLANOGRAPHIC PRINTING PLATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple evaluating method by which the state of a positive type image forming material for IR laser to be subjected to a direct photomechanical process under the conditions of the process is easily judged and to provide a quality control method for keeping the quality of a planographic printing plate uniform by feeding back the evaluated result to exposing and developing steps. SOLUTION: A positive type image forming material for IR laser is exposed under plural conditions while stepwise varying energy to produce a planographic printing plate for evaluation and this planographic printing plate is developed with a standard developing solution having a standard blend to produce a planographic printing plate processed with the standard developing solution. The planographic printing plate for evaluation is developed with a developing solution to be evaluated to produce a planographic printing plate processed with the target developing solution. The states of the image or non-image areas of the planographic printing plate processed with the standard developing solution and the planographic printing plate processed with the target developing solution under prescribed exposure conditions are compared.
