PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily equalize an in-plane luminance in the case of use of a transmission type electro-optical panel, a backlight and a light guide plate, even if light intensity incident on the light guide plate varies at each position. SOLUTION: In this electro-optical device, only a significantly weak light is emitted from both end portions of a light source lamp 310, i.e., portions which house electrodes 311. By forming white ink dots 215, having high light diffusion on the rear face of the light guide plate 210 in both end areas 218 of the light guide plate 210 by ink-jetting, an in-plane luminance of light emitted from the light guide plate 210 is uniformized. |
