PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inertia latch mechanism of a head actuator which is capable of surely latching the actuator and is high in reliability. SOLUTION: The inertial latch mechanism 60, which retracts the head actuator from an impact, has three latch members 64, 65, 66, and these latch members are freely rotatably supported around a pivot 68. The gravities of the three latch members are positioned by being away from the pivot respectively and are simultaneously positioned 120 degrees away from one another along the circumferential direction with the pivot being as a center. Each latch member has first and second latch pawls positioned at both sides of the pivot, and is rotatable to the first latch position where the first latch pawl is engaged with a first projection 62a of the head actuator and the second latch position where the second latch pawl is engaged with a second projection 62b of the head actuator.
