PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To internally execute noise suppression for to both of the interlaced output of a TV signal and progressive scanned output suited to a still picture system. SOLUTION: Two horizontal signal lines are provided, two noise-suppressing parts are provided in one vertical signal line, and these are respectively connected with the horizontal signal lines. This image pickup device has a function for suppressing the noise of optional desirably-adjacent two horizontal lines selected in a horizontal blanking period as a second horizontal period and simultaneously outputting the signals of the two horizontal lines in a signal read period as the next first horizontal period. The adjacent two horizontal lines are made different in the first field and the second field in pair.
