PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method for the reliability of a sealed and cut part in a thin planar heat pipe in which the wall thickness of a container is thin and whose internal structure is fine. SOLUTION: In a pipe body in which a working fluid is airtightly sealed and in the pipe body of a heat pipe 1 which is provided with a sealed and cut part 3, steel plates 2 are heated in such a way that a pressure inside the body becomes larger than a pressure outside the body. Then, the gasified vapor of the working fluid which flows out to the outside from the sealed and cut part 3 of the heat pipe 1 is detected. Alternatively, the amount of the gasified vapor of the working fluid which flows out from the sealed and cut part 3 is measured. The reliability of the sealed and cut part is evaluated.
