PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal display hardly damaging a display face. SOLUTION: The glass substrate of the electrode substrate on the display surface of the liquid crystal display consists of a float glass containing 0.1 to 20 wt.% B2O3 and formed into a sheet by floating and carrying a fused glass on a fused tin. The surface of the glass sheet where electrodes are not formed is in contact with the fused tin during the glass is floated and carried.
